More Buses Now is a grassroots campaign striving to bring improvements to the Metro Vancouver bus system that will benefit both passengers and riders. The campaign is being sponsored by the members of Canadian Auto Workers local 111 - the bus driver's union.
We are the over 3500 transit operators who move the people of Metro Vancouver each day. We work and live across the entire region, from the University of BC campus to Maple Ridge and from North Vancouver to White Rock.
We operate "regular" buses, community shuttle buses, electric trolley buses and the long articulated buses. And on all these buses we see the same problems you see: overcrowding, pass-ups of riders waiting at bus stops, delayed service, and not enough buses.
As bus drivers, we believe More Buses Now is an important step in improving bus service, reducing traffic congestion and shrinking the environmental footprint of the citizens of Metro Vancouver by making our transit service the best possible alternative to driving your own vehicle.
Please join with us in convincing the provincial government and TransLink officials that we need More Buses Now! Send an email to the Transportation Minister, the Premier and your local MLA through this website.
